Movers Enfield Modern Slavery Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement is made by Movers Enfield in accordance with applicable legislation on modern slavery and human trafficking. It sets out the actions we are taking to prevent modern slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour, and human trafficking in our operations and supply chains. This statement relates to the financial year ending 31 December and will be reviewed and updated annually.
Our Business and Supply Chains
Movers Enfield is a removals and relocation business providing domestic and commercial moving services. Our operations rely on a combination of directly employed staff, temporary labour, and third-party suppliers, including vehicle hire providers, packing material suppliers, storage facilities, cleaning contractors, and other logistics partners. We recognise that some of these sectors can carry an elevated risk of labour exploitation and we are committed to managing these risks responsibly.
Zero-Tolerance Policy on Modern Slavery
Movers Enfield has a clear zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery and human trafficking. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure that modern slavery is not taking place either within our own operations or in any part of our supply chains.
All employees, workers, and contractors are expected to uphold this policy. Breaches by employees may result in disciplinary action up to and including dismissal. Breaches by suppliers or contractors may result in the termination of contracts and removal from our approved supplier list.
Supplier Due Diligence and Audits
We seek to work only with suppliers and contractors that share our commitment to preventing modern slavery. As part of our supplier onboarding and ongoing management, we are progressively implementing the following measures:
We conduct risk-based assessments of suppliers, focusing on the nature of the services provided, geographic location, use of temporary or migrant labour, and known sector risks. Higher-risk suppliers are prioritised for enhanced checks and engagement.
We require confirmation from key suppliers that they comply with all relevant labour and human rights laws, do not use forced or trafficked labour, and have policies and procedures to prevent modern slavery in their own operations and supply chains.
Where appropriate, we carry out audits or request independent assessments of suppliers. These audits may review working conditions, recruitment practices, wage records, and worker documentation. Any issues identified must be addressed through corrective action plans, with follow-up monitoring to confirm implementation.
Training, Awareness, and Reporting Channels
We are committed to building awareness of modern slavery risks among our workforce. Managers and staff involved in procurement, recruitment, and supplier management receive guidance on identifying indicators of forced labour and exploitation, and on how to respond to concerns.
Movers Enfield encourages all workers, contractors, and other stakeholders to report any suspicions or concerns related to modern slavery or unethical labour practices. Concerns may relate to our own operations, our suppliers, or any third parties connected to our services. Reports can be made confidentially through internal reporting routes or directly to senior management. No individual will suffer any detrimental treatment for raising a concern in good faith.
Continuous Improvement and Annual Review
We recognise that combating modern slavery is an ongoing process and we are committed to continuous improvement. Each year, Movers Enfield will review this statement, our risk assessments, and our due diligence activities to evaluate their effectiveness and identify opportunities for strengthening our approach.
The annual review will consider feedback from employees and suppliers, results from supplier audits, any reported incidents or investigations, and developments in legislation and best practice. Where necessary, we will update our policies, procedures, and training materials to reflect emerging risks and expectations.
This Modern Slavery Statement has been approved by the management of Movers Enfield, who take overall responsibility for ensuring that it is implemented and maintained across the business. We remain fully committed to playing our part in preventing modern slavery and protecting the rights and dignity of all workers involved in our operations and supply chains.
